WorkLife Law’s efforts to secure justice for working people and students who are pregnant, postpartum, or caring for family members took on new dimensions this year. We’ve had to defend federal rights we previously took for granted, while expanding what’s possible at the state and local level. While our work may have shifted, we’re still creating wins for pregnant people and family caregivers nationwide.

Check out our new Annual Report to learn more about WorkLife Law’s recent successes, including:

      • The first lawsuits tried under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act and the PUMP Act—workers won both with the support of WorkLife Law’s technical litigation assistance and training.

      • Training over 5,000 community changemakers who will in turn help others, including 1,000+ healthcare providers who together serve an estimated 100,000 patients annually.

      • Graduating 136 community health workers from our training program on supporting pregnant and breastfeeding workers—these community helpers will directly support over 6,000 people in the six months following training alone.

      • Expanding our Attorney Network membership by over 20% and launching our new Litigation Resource Hub to support the creation of legal precedent that protects the most vulnerable workers.

      • Directly supporting colleges and universities in building family-responsive policies and practices that protect over a million students across 20 states.

      • Helping workers in 46 states (plus D.C.!) on our free legal helpline this year—our busiest in nearly 25 years of operation.

      • Paving the way for new state-level advances: advocating for flexible work laws, implementing new protections for family caregivers, securing translation services for paid leave applicants, and more!

We invite you to dig into our Annual Report to read more about these victories and to learn how together we’re building a better future for working families.
