WorkLife Law operates an invitation-only Attorney Network that offers free technical assistance, training, and connections to potential clients for lawyers who represent employees facing discrimination, harassment, and retaliation because of pregnancy, lactation, caregiving, and related family responsibilities.
Technical Assistance
WorkLife Law provides litigation support in cases brought under Title VII, PDA, PWFA, PUMP Act, FMLA, ADA association clause, and state law equivalents. This can include:
- Providing feedback on the strength of potential clients’ case, identifying and outlining claims, and reviewing draft administrative charges and complaints;
- Framing legal arguments, brainstorming discovery, and discussing litigation strategy;
- Reviewing draft oppositions to dispositive motions;
- Assisting with appeals and filing amicus briefs; and
- Providing sample pleadings and other litigation materials.
WorkLife Law also keeps Attorney Network members informed of important cases and legal trends through live trainings and resources.
Connections to Potential Clients
Attorney Network members can choose to have their contact information given to employees who need legal representation. WorkLife Law’s free legal helpline assists workers who have been passed over for promotion, denied leave, harassed, forced out of their jobs, denied accommodations, or otherwise discriminated against because of pregnancy, lactation, and caregiving. We aim to match strong facts with experienced litigators. Attorney Network members decide whether to represent the potential client and make their usual fee arrangements.
Network Membership
WorkLife Law never charges its Attorney Network members for its services. WorkLife Law’s mission to advance gender and racial justice by strengthening legal rights for pregnant people and family caregivers includes partnering with private litigators to create favorable legal outcomes. At the same time, WorkLife Law is a fully self-funded nonprofit, and our team deeply appreciates all tax-deductible contributions to keep our services available – both for litigators and the hundreds of workers who call our free legal helpline every year.
